Our New Year resolution this year was to get out of Tokyo every month. We did pretty well the first few months, but then inertia set in, as it so often does when you are bashing your head against the language barrier and carting a three year old around. So last week we sat down and organised our travels for the rest of the year, resisting the temptation to just do the easy weekend trips. 48 hours from now, Maya and I are leaving for India for our bi-annual orgy of eating, reading and shopping. We will be back in August, then we are off to Saipan for five days. In September, we plan to visit Sydney and Cairns. From October to December, we will be whizzing through Kyoto, Hiroshima, Takayama and Amame-Oshima taking in shrines, beaches and castles.

My email connection in India is expensive and spotty, so I will not be blogging regularly. But I will be back in August with pictures ( finally) an About page and a better looking blog. Thanks to everyone who has been reading this and those who pointed out the bugs. The disappearing comments seems to have fixed itself: I think it was Ennetations fault. The rest of the bugs are definitely my fault, but I don't know how to fix them just yet. But I will by the time I get back to Tokyo.
